Pet Owner Disaster Preparedness
Emergencies and disasters can strike at any time.
Here in Central Texas, our weather can change without much warning bringing severe weather with the potential of tornadoes and high winds. Other emergencies - big or small - can include flooding, house fire, gas leaks or sudden neighborhood evacuations.
The Humane Society of Central Texas encourages all pet owners to include their pet(s) in their family emergency plan. This includes having a copy of current vaccinations, photo with you and your pet, at least a 3-day supply of food and water for each pet, food/water bowls, extra leash (dog), and litter box/scooper (cat) and trash bags.

HOW TO REPORT ABUSE, CRUELTY OR NEGLECT
If you have a cruelty, abuse or neglect concern, call your local law enforcement agengy immediately to report it. You can also document incidents with dates/times, and take photos (as long as you don't trespass) to assist law enforcement with supporting evidence.
